| Fists drawn on the signs Lines drawn in the streets The names they shout aren’t mine Slogans echo tweets I see them from my window As they go marching by It scares me how the crowds grow And still I don’t know why It’s broken but no one fixes it Dividing people is no solution The answer, they’re dismissing it In favor of a revolution Daddy, I’m afraid of them I don’t know why they shout at me Spewing out more hate again Instead of the love that sets us free They say the system is corrupt Greed and wickedness therein abound Why don’t they work to build it up? Instead they burn the cities down It’s broken but no one fixes it Dividing the nation is no solution The answer, they’re dismissing it And calling for a revolution 20 Lines Written for "Promptly Poetry Challenge (2025-2026)" Week 36 Prompt - image of a little girl looking out of a window.
