| once, a stranger embraced me, her breath intoxicating and her words slurred, as she fixated on my necklace, which proved, she told me, that I had a strong heart, that I had an angel soul, that I was glowing-- I didn't see it in my sober state, but I smiled at her and held my breath as I unwound her arms from my neck and watched her pour herself into a cab for home.
