| The mourning dove cries but does not sorrow His doleful song does not bemoan a loss He sings the same today and tomorrow Whether ‘tis joy or toil he comes across Would that I could display such brave resolve With courage face the days that lie ahead If only these memories would dissolve A new vision replace the tears I shed Empty the days that remain to me now Grief has silenced the music of my soul For only death could have broken that vow Left shattered, never again to be whole.
