Shadow

Quite naturally you found fame
and made it all look so very easy
though of course
I remember
the many hours that we spent
practising together

Your single minded dedication
and fierce desire to succeed
didn't stop your generous encouragement
patiently going over techniques
sharing your skill
your talent
to help me when I struggled

I could never be as good as youy
don't have that spark
the something extra
but you helped me to be
better than I could have ever been alone

So whilst others may be jealous
of your musical prowess
fooling themselves that you just got lucky
everything fell into your lap

I know better

How hard you worked
how much I gained
studying with you

So I am quite content to be

your devoted
