| The tight fist of cold, frigidness loosens The silent skies, once empty, Now erupt with delighted chirps As birds flit through fragrant air And balance within flowering trees. Squirrels scamper, rabbits hop Over the once covered white landscape That has now turned a verdant, lush green Flowers pop with colour. Bees buzz lazily from one to the next I slip out of my house wearing no jacket I pull in deep breaths of fresh air Knowing my allergies will flare up But for now I am just happy To escape the confines of my house And step into the wonderland That is my awakening backyard.
