How did I end up at WDC? I always wanted to write a book and I loved writing stories and poems. In High School, I took Creative Writing. My poem Summer Wine was printed in a book at school. I was on the paper staff, annual staff and was the local high school reporter. I worked in Nursing and had to write summaries about the patients. I thought that as close to being a writer that I will ever be. I had went to a Junior College and got a Associates Of Degree towards Journalism. Sadly, the college I went to didn't offer enough Journalism classes. Ibtrief to get a reporter job and I had to write an article about a man that sold used cars. I did and the Editor said it read like an Ad for used cars. Okay. Forgot thsta.I wrote an article about why I loved Gone With The Wind for the local paper and it was printed. I helped write for the newsletter at work. I wrote an article for the Church Newsletter. Our house had burned down and my job at the county home was changing over to Mental Health. We rebuilt our house. My friend was trying to get items published and asked me about my writing degree and why wasn't I using it? I signed up for a Creative Writing Class and Short Story Writing Class. I saw an ad for Stories which is now WDC. I became a member and wrote stories and got reviews. I made friends. I got Awardicons and Merit Badges. I kept writing, joined Groups, entered contests and hosted my own contests. Not to brag but I became No. 1 in CR. I have been here 23 years. I love all the Birthday Activities and The Storymaster and The Storymistress are wonderful. I have had 2 books published and have diplomas in Creative Writing and Short Writing. I love my friends here. I have my own groups. I like writing romance, Jane Austen items, dragons, unicorns, mermaids. I do write poems. I write a variety of things. I have grown as a writer. I will stay here as long as the site is open. I am thankful for this site or I would have never taken up writing. I salute all of you. It has been a good journey. My journey is still going on. |
