There is a lot within me Other Than Scriptwriting. This blog is devoted to those stories. |
I Can’t Believe It’s Done, But… After the day that I have had today, I’m very surprised that I got my WDC Short Story for this month finished today. I know that I only had two Sections/Parts needed to finish writing this WDC Short Story, but I didn’t think I would get it done. The first Part/Section didn’t take me too long to write, but it took longer than I thought. The second Section/Part didn’t take as long to write as the first part, but it wasn’t as easy to write, though. Mainly, it’s because of the time frame I had to write this second Part/Section. I only had about two hours to write this second Section/part, aka about two hours. Normally, my Parts/Sections fives and tens are easier for me to write because they are more action-oriented, but not this time, especially the tenth one. The fifth Section/Part of this WDC Short Story lived up to my action-oriented genre, but my tenth one didn’t. This one sounded action-oriented, but it wasn’t as much as it usually is. I figured that I would get about half of this Part/Section written today, and I would need to try to finish it tomorrow before I went back to work, and that’s if I had the time to finish it. Luckily, it didn’t come down to that. My other decision would be to wait until Monday to finish it. Luckily, I didn’t have to make that decision. After all, I finished within that two-hour time frame. I even had time to add up these Sections/Parts to make sure that my Word Count was under the two-thousand-word limitations. It was just a little bit under that limitation, thanks to the first half of this WDC Short Story, but it wasn’t in the second half. Personally, I like it when the second half of a Short Story is a little over the first half, but I don’t like it to be as much over as the second half was. So, I went back to see what I could cut out, especially the repetition. I’ve a very bad habit of repetition. Something I have been working on. While I was cutting out my Word Count limitations, I realized I hadn’t mentioned the setting for this WDC Short Story. The way this WDC Short Story reads, it doesn’t show where all this drama is happening. That needs to be corrected. I can think of only one way to add another paragraph to this WDC Short Story: more cutting. I didn’t have any more time today to do any more cutting of this WDC Short Story. So, I will continue to do it tomorrow if I have the time to do it. If I don’t have the time to do it tomorrow, it will be Monday at the earliest that I will be able to get it done. I may wait later to finish this. So, I have finished writing my WDC Short Story for this month, but I also haven’t finished writing it yet. Because of the Settings Paragraph, I haven’t officially finished this WDC Short Story. If the Word Count hadn’t been so close to my Word Count Limitations, I probably would have finished it today, but unfortunately, I haven’t done that today. Will I get the cutting and Settings Paragraph written tomorrow before I return to work at six PM WDC time? Hopefully, I can do that. Lately, I have had some time to get some writing done before I return to work on Saturday. I hope that this will be one of those times. |
