One Last Flower
It thought it could, it thought it could.
And sure enough it did!
The garden has pretty much been put to bed. All of the 2025 vegetation debris has been cleaned up, bagged, and hauled away to the town compost heap. Still some minor leaf dropping, but even that's just about over. The last three bags of mulch were spread, protecting the perennials from temperature changes.
I think it was 🌝 HuntersMoon who asked me about my growing zone, which is 7A. When I answered 🌝 HuntersMoon, I mentioned that the climate was really changing. We still get hot, humid summers, but the winters are far more temperate. We'll get some really cold spells, some snow, but not as much as we used to (I hope).
The changes are confusing the plants (and the gardener).
One last bearded iris decided to bloom in late November, in time for Thanksgiving, instead of late Spring. A splash of color in a sleeping garden
