Almost Ready to Start This

The good news is that I remembered a Short Story that goes along with the December WDC prompt. Unfortunately, that’s about all the good news that I have so far with this Short Story. It’s not as bad as it reads, though. I did get most of the set-up done for this Short Story, but that’s all the time I had today to start working on it.

So far, all I have gotten written is the title for this Short Story, the Short Story Description, and the few paragraphs I have written to help me write this Short Story. What I haven’t written yet are the ten sentences for each section/part of this WDC Short Story. After I get those written, I will be able to start writing this Short Story.

Why didn’t I get started with this WDC Short Story today, or at least finish the set-up for it? I tried to at least finish the set-up for this Short Story, and I did get most of it done, but I didn’t get all of it done today. What is the usual reason why I don’t get more writing done in a day? That’s right, it’s because of my brother and me.

This time it was different, though. My brother and I had a lot that we needed to do today, and it did take us most of the day to accomplish what needed to be done, but we didn’t have to go out of our duplex to do it. That’s the difference. We usually have to go outside our duplex to do whatever it is that we need to do that day.

My brother had several things that he needed to do today on his cell phone. Some of those things he needed my help with, mostly approvals to get things done or to agree on what needs to be done. I was online during this time with a problem that I needed to be fixed. Unfortunately, with my brother’s problems and my problem, it took us almost a day to do this.

As a result, I only had about three hours today to work on this WDC Short Story. Now that I’m seeing this in writing, it wasn’t so bad a day after all. It’s true, I didn’t get my setup for this Short Story finished today, but I did only have about three hours to work on it. That’s very good writing. At least it is for me.

Unfortunately, tomorrow may be about the same as today. Not with what my brother and I need to accomplish tomorrow, but with the amount of time I will have to work on this WDC Short Story. I should have enough time to finish writing my sentence Parts/Sections tomorrow, and maybe one or two of these Sections/parts, depending on how much time I have to work on it.

What does that mean for this WDC Short Story? It means that I will have eight or nine Parts/Sections to write on Thursday and Friday if I want to finish writing this by the end of this week, aka before I return to work on Saturday. I doubt that’s going to happen. If I’m lucky, I may only have one or two Sections/Parts left to write before I finish writing it.

That’s another problem. Suppose I only have one or two Parts/Sections left to write before I finish writing this Short Story. In that case, that means I will have another mixed blog entry for my early Saturday evening to early Sunday morning shift at work this Saturday and Sunday. I don’t want to do that, but it looks like that’s what I will need to do.
