Bradbury Week 1
Prologue: Resica

It started with just three Magiones, already burdened with age. They had ran from our world, fleeing the tyranny of the Martinet. They hid in forest and wood, avoiding humanity and populated areas. They knew other Magiones had made it away too.

The ancient settlement loomed up on them out of an intense fog. The buildings were made of all kinds of materials; straw huts to towering skyscrapers of shiny metals, to a myriad of structures of stone or wood. Even the shiny metal ones looked like they had been abandoned for centuries; dented, cracked and mildewed.

In the center of the settlement, it looked like several species of trees had took root on the same spot. It was older than the rest of it, gnarled and twisted with age; no green to it. There was a word carved into it, fresh, within a few days. The word was RESICA. In our language it meant sanctuary.....

The three Magiones were too old to keep running. They called upon their last strength to build their numbers, to call for strength be able to use spells and incantations to hide the settlement.

Others came. Eventually there were a few dozen..They were able to complete a maze around them.

Every once in a while though there were a chosen few who found their way.....
