The Cotton
Silvern



White cloud on the stalk,
A small promise of comfort.

Grown under a hot sun,
Drinking the summer rain,
Waits patiently.

The bolls burst open in an explosion of fluff.


The fingers slip through the cotton texture.
It is so soft.

From field to house,
A journey of transformation,
Woven into sheets,
The cradle is sleeping through the deck.

A simple plant,
Bearing the gift of everyday ease.
