innocent and harmless.

Both my parents were busy with various works of their own. My father was a responsible government officer and yet could give time for us kids like supervising our meals and taking care of our general health.

Mom was busy supervising a big home and a large staff to handle, not only cleaning and maintaining various rooms but also to look after the huge lawns and garden surrounding our home. She particularly took care of cooking and sometimes hosting dinners for my dad’s friends and colleagues.

My parents were keen on creating or encouraging musical talent in us. So they got music classes fixed for us for three days a week. Let me make it clear that it was South Indian classical music. It was fun too while it lasted. My musical foundations were laid.

Our hearts were free of any kind of attachments, be it to boyfriends or a special thing or a place of importance. Everything from sky to earth looked pretty and romantic. No wonder I developed love and a keen liking for Nature poets and Masters of romantic novels.

It was during my college that seed for reading and writing was sown. I was passionately in love with reading stories and novels of various genres not only in English but also in my own mother tongue, namely, Telugu.
