Welcome to Writing.Com!

We’re so glad you’re here!

Writing can sometimes feel solitary… but at Writing.Com, you’re surrounded by writers who are creating, sharing, learning, and growing every day. Whether you joined to share your stories, get feedback, improve your craft, or simply connect with other writers, you now have a place to call home.

You don’t need to learn everything here at once. It's a huge community and we know that can be overwhelming. So let's just start here for now:

1. Add a few lines to your bio
Let people know a little about you and what you love to write (or read).

How do I do that? ▶︎

Go to Portfolio / Portfolio in the left column, then click the gear icon in the upper right to enter your BioBlock information. You can also update your Biography the same way in your portfolio.

2. Post your first piece
It doesn’t have to be perfect. First drafts are welcome and encouraged.

How do I do that? ▶︎

Click +Create Something in the left column, choose your item type, and follow the prompts. Your work will appear in your Portfolio once saved.

3. Introduce yourself
Don't be shy. Everyone is glad you're here and we love meeting new members.

How do I do that? ▶︎

Head to Newsfeed on the left and make a post to say hello! Then join in other conversations on Newsfeed to get the feel of it.

Also, visit ""Noticing Newbies"  and "General Discussion Forum Header"  to meet other writers and join in.

That’s it. Just three simple steps to get used to us.
