How does the rest of the world cope with heatwaves? I'm sure some places would consider 30C (86F) merely warm, but in the UK we're not used to it. Our homes are built to conserve heat. The last few days I have been melting into my chair, afraid to move away from the fan.

What do you eat when it's this hot? In my case pork pies, ice cream, crisps and cake. Not very healthy. No way am I turning the cooker on. Fortunately down in the SW we've had a break today with max 20C and a little rain. Fish and chips for tea. Unfortunately more batter than fish and warmed up chips.

If the temperature stays at this level I might cook something tomorrow. If I use the air fryer it shouldn't make the house too much hotter. I'm thinking fish pie. I would live on seafood if I could but it is expensive. Some weeks fish fingers are as near as I can get.

Come on those of you who live in hotter climes, what do you eat when the temperature soars?
