I am MAD! I received in the mail a letter from my home insurance company stating that my home insurance has lapsed. The date of the lapsed was July 17. I received the letter on July 24, a Friday afternoon. I immediately called the insurance company but it appeared all went home for the day. The letter itself was dated three days after the lapsed? Not at anytime did I received a phone call? I had no intention to allow it to lapsed. If they had called me, I would have taken care of payment immediately. Now I have to wait till Monday morning to address the issue. No courtesy here.

When I got the letter, I immediately pulled my file to see if I wrote a check. I did not find a copy of the most recent home insurance, which they always send with request of payment. I am thinking they didn't send the contract for me to sign and that is why I did not send a check. Months went by and I forgot about it. After all, it is only something I pay once a year.

In any case, I am hoping they will reinstate the policy without penalty. Worst scenario, I go to another company, meanwhile, my home is uninsured, still in hurricane season in Florida.
