Tri-fall

Thoughts on the lump in my left breast

alien in my breast’s
soft tissue
a mass in my left mammary
visitor in my chest
an issue
of malignant calamity?

is this strange invader
a benign
result of sixty-three Earth years
or a conspirator
or design
to pit my faith against my fears?

benign or malignant
it transforms
the pattern of my mind’s self-talk
my soul is not stagnant
it informs
my brain-body in matter’s walk.

form: Tri-fall (created by Jan Turner) = three 6-line stanzas, with each line of the stanza occurring in this order 6/3/8/6/3/8 (line-syllable count) and a rhyme scheme of abcabc, with very little punctuation.
