Finding happiness a daily challenge

Be happy while you're living,
for you're a long time dead.
~Scottish Proverb

Happiness
personally defined
cannot be found in others
nor in material possessions;
life is spirit’s happiness;
the soul is challenged
to find joy
in daily actions,
laughter in mundane events;
death comes on padded paws, unannounced;
it slips into the body
unreturnable;
life severed.
