Writing.Com was founded by a husband-and-wife team who still run it today.

The StoryMaster : Our developer and architect. He has built every feature on Writing.Com from the ground up and continues to evolve the platform as technology changes. He listens, takes suggestions from the community, and works to fix the bugs as soon as they are found.

The StoryMistress : Our designer and creative lead. She shapes the visual identity of the site, helps guide the daily experience of the community, and is all around general support to anyone here who needs it.

For over two decades, we’ve been building tools, systems, and spaces that help writers thrive. We are independent, hands-on, and we care deeply about our community. We understand the importance of our members and their experience here. We do our best to make that experience the best it can be.

Privacy & Pseudonyms
Creativity feels safer when you’re comfortable. Members can write under pen names (handles) or use their real names. It's your choice. Write openly, share confidently, and be yourself. Or write privately and keep it to yourself. That is also your choice.
