For the Educators

An Online Classroom Space
Writing.Com can serve as a useful resource for education professionals. Our Group item allows teachers to gather students into a private online classroom. A teacher may create a Group for each class and add registered students using their Writing.Com usernames.

Additional items can be created for class use and set to Group-only access. Students may also set their own work to be visible only within the Group.

Tools for Communication
Writing.Com provides several tools that support classroom interaction:

• Bulletins to announce assignments and updates. Students who miss class still have 24/7 access to information.
• Message forums to discuss topics within the Group. Members may respond to existing discussions or begin their own.
• Group email to send updates or assignments quickly to all members at once.

Managing and Reviewing Student Work
Writing.Com offers a consistent way to access student work and provide feedback. When students post assignments within their portfolios, teachers can easily review and respond using the built-in review text box at the bottom of each item.

Students may also link to and organize their assignments within a central location for the class.
