An Item Alias is a custom name you can assign to an item, making it easier to remember and tag.

Instead of using a long numeric ID, you can reference your item with a simple word or phrase.

Items that have an alias assigned to them will automatically show up first in the editor's search when a member types the alias.

For example: Technical Support Forum is easily linked by typing "support" for the item alias rather than its item ID number: 303715.

Use an Item Alias when you want a cleaner, shorter, quicker, and more memorable way to reference your items.

This is especially helpful for:

• Frequently shared items
• Links in your writing or signature
• Items you reference often

Create an Item Alias

You can create and manage Item Aliases from your Portfolio settings.

Choose a unique name that’s easy to remember and clearly connected to your item.

Each item alias costs 10,000 Gift Points to purchase and activate it. These are first come, first served. Once an alias is assigned, no one else can have that name.
