A Passkey lets you control who can view an item by requiring a code to access it.

You can share this code with specific people, giving them access while keeping the item private to everyone else.

When to Use a Passkey

Use a Passkey when you want to share your work with a limited audience.

This is especially helpful for:

• Sending work to agents, editors, or teachers
• Sharing private drafts with select readers
• Controlling access without making an item fully public

Use a Passkey

Set an access restriction on your item, then add a Passkey.

Anyone who doesn’t meet the access level will need the Passkey to view the item.

You’ll need to share both the item link and the Passkey with those you want to give access to.

Passkeys only apply to restricted items—public items do not require one.

• Make sure your item is not set to Public if you want the Passkey to work
