Our Millie finds that the looks and fashion matter with snooty Ima Rae.
|Our Millie used to say that maybe in the great scheme of life poodle skirts and crinolines don't matter, but when you're goin' to the Consolidated High School over the mountain and dealin' with snooty Ima Rae a few extra crinolines and a pink angora sweater set to top it all off might not be enough to look pretty.
When Our Millie start going to the Consolidated High School over the mountain she rode the school bus with Pearlie Gates. They always met at the end of the gravel road and waited at the little bus shack the county had put up. The bus would come around the curve and the girls could always tell who was driving. If it was Fuzzy the bus seemed to crawl along like a turtle. If it was Neicy it would screech to a halt and if you weren't fast enough your heels would be caught as the door wooshed shut on the already moving bus.
