"Blog City ~ Every Blogger's Paradise" [E] Prompt: Recall an old childhood photograph. Tell us the moments leading up to this photograph.
Picture an adorable three-year-old boy with pale skin and brown hair (it hadn't darkened yet- it was reddish actually) shoving two peaches in his mouth.
We're in Arkansas, and little Calvin is going to the peach orchard with his mom, grandma, and uncle's girlfriend. Here's how I got two peaches:
I had just picked a peach and was eating it when my uncle's girlfriend came and picked me up. Because she picked me up I dropped my peach. I remember looking over her shoulder at the retreating peach tree and crying. She felt bad so she reached up and picked me another peach. I took it, but kept crying. Then, my mom took me and gave me a peach as well. So now I have two peaches, and I'm happy, and I'm trying to eat both of them at the same time.
I'm not sure if that actually happened or if all my memories from going to a peach orchard when I was little combined. I know my uncle's girlfriend picked me up and made me drop my peach. And no one in my family actually liked her. He didn't marry her anyways.
Now, we have a peach tree in our backyard. For one week a year, usually late July, we get a huge crop of peaches. Nothing is as good as peaches fresh off the tree. Or the desserts made with them. So, without further ado,
