Senryu String

Housework Times Seven

the kitchen calls me
beckons my inner housewife
to clean the oven

frying pan washed
refrigerator cleaned out
cannot find the broom

the floors need mopping
dishes dried and put away
laundry piling up

the living room calls
dirt blows in under the door
birthing dust bunnies

closed the bathroom door
is out of sight out of mind
only in my dreams

someone made the beds
can't remember doing it
my alter ego

too much work to do
still have to take out the trash
but it's dark outside
