Poems that pursue the horizon from past to present and poems created for NaPoWriMo 2017 |
| Dear Son, Your work is done, You can now rest; We’re proud of you, You gave your best. Your buddies are alive Today because of you. Though our hearts are heavy, You saved more than a few. The flag on your casket Told the story you know; Your service mascot Draped in stripes also. Together in heaven, Both running free; We grieve for you On bended knee. Proud and lost are we your heartsick, faithful, Loving family. ____________________________________________ Entry: April 18, 2017 Prompt: Good news or bad news, letter form For: Dew Drop Inn Poetry Workshop Form: Quatrain with triplet ending Syllabic Pattern: 4-5 per line Rhyme Pattern: abcb, etc. Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.~~Robert Frost |
