The Antiquated Movie House

In the center of small northern town
Stands the movie theater
Old, yet grand.
Now bleached pale with age and looking neglected;
But inside velvet seats await
And heavy, ruby red curtains
Open to the imagination.
They bring an array of cinematographic delights:
Mystery, suspense, romance, intrigue
From dark horrors to sappy love stories
All of them draw in the crowds
From teens wanting something to do
Because a small town doesn't offer much;
To lovers locked in each others embrace
Hiding back in the dark rows
enjoying more than just the popcorn.
The theater is an oasis from the everyday
Where imagination and delight
Take flight
