Memories of Rain

Spring rain releases
odd aromas into the air
birds intone their gratitude.

Summer rain descends
in cold drops onto the ground
cools sweltering pavement.

Autumn rain falling
like leaves to the frigid earth
scatters memories.

Winter rain freezes
into white snow and sleet
shivers the marrow in your bones.
