A rundown of the day's top sports Headlines
|I been away for the past few days.
There quite a few news stories to catch up on, especially in the National Hockey League.
First, however, there was a huge trade in Major League over the weekend, involving the Toronto Blue Jays.
As you probably know by now, the Blue Jays have traded Marcus Stroman to the New York Mets for Simeon Woods Richardson and Anthony Kay.
Word has it Stroman wasn't too pleased about going to the Mets.
The Jays also made two more trades on the weekend.
Toronto traded Eric Sogard to the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday for two players to be named later.
The Jays traded David Phelps to the Chicago Cubs for pitching prospect, Thomas Hatch.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded Ryan Callahan to the Ottawa Senators in exchange for Mike Condon.
The Lightning also re-signed goalie, Andrei Vasilevskiy, to an eight-year, $76 million contract extension.
Vasilevskiy better stop a few more pucks for that price.
The Calgary Flames have re-signed David Rittich to a two-year, $5,5 million contract extension.
The Minnesota Wild have fired general manager, Paul Fenton, after a year with the team.
The New Jersey Devils have acquired Nikita Gusev from the Vegas Golden Knights for a 2020 third-round draft pick and a 2021 second-round pick.
The New York Rangers have re-signed Pavel Buchneich to a two-year, $6.5 million contract extension.
The Detroit Red Wings have re-signed Dominic Turgeon to a one-year contract.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired John Marino from the Edmonton Oilers for a conditional draft pick.
The Buffalo Sabres have signed Evan Rodrigues to a one-year, $2 million contract.
The St. Louis Blues have acquired Andreas Borgman from the Toronto Maple Leafs for Jordan Schmaltz.
