7/5 Trochee: "Quiet Time"
Quiet minutes fill my soul
with a needed balm.
Peaceful moments make me whole,
furnished, blessed with calm.

Sleeping loved ones now so still.
Writer's fingers dance.
Heartfelt thoughts express my will.
Choice, that's not a chance.

"Sleep," my body starts to plead.
Early morning hours
spent in time of write or read
builds some lofty towers.
