a descent into poetry insanity |
| didn't sleep last night, staring with unsleep-dry eyes until nine am at which point, I slept until four. we lose long hours with sleep. hours that could be spent reading one last chapter or puttering around the house or staring at the ceiling, counting revolutions of the fan. thought about giving up sleep for lent, then remembered, easter is over and I'm not Catholic and sleep isn't something to give up. that way lies hallucinations. wonder if the dog that started barking last week two doors down, is a hallucination. I've never heard it before. probably not. wonder if I'll sleep tonight. line count: 24 April 15: leave something unresolved in a poem |
