WATT'S GNUS

What the gnu knew

2222, May 15th

A couple centuries ago what was reported in the news was only a small part of the daily drama that others chose to share, that we chose to hear. An obscure poet wrote:

"What was really true, only gnus knew. And they weren't talking to us anymore ..."

June 29, 2009 at 4:26pm
A Texas Rainbow Revolt? Fiasco at the Rainbow Lounge 2009, June 29 40 years to the date after Stonewall, the Fort Worth Police Department chooses to raid the Rainbow Lounge. 7 were arrested; one hospitalized. Texas had better hope Mr. Chad Gibbons heals well... There was a protest yesterday that seems to be in the Texas news, but nowhere else: http://ontopmag.com/article.aspx?id=4100&MediaType=1&Category=26 Anyone remember the 60s? The hosing of folks in Alabama, the assassinat... [Read more]
Was it OK for Jesus to have two daddys?

Was it OK for Jesus to have 2 daddys? 2009, June 9 There has been much gnus about gay rights to form partnerships, enter contracts and even marry. Time for for some comments! "Was it OK for Jesus to have 2 daddys?" A wonderful blog comment I read somewhere! Of course, it may have been acceptable in Nazareth 2,000 years ago, but not in We-R-Baptist, OKlahoma today. God may have made a contract with Mary and Joseph, but Da Baptists know better. Dick Cheney su... [Read more]
Adolf Hitler Campbell: what's in a name
June 29, 2009 at 4:19pm
Adolf Hitler Campbell: what's in a name? 2008, December 16 Andra also did an entry on this: My response: I saw the article too and intended to write an entry about it. I think the parents should've reconsidered the names; but ... parents do many strange things. The child can simply adopt a nickname. Just because the parents made a questionable choice does not excuse the other adults from their mean and bigoted responses. Even a swastika shouldn't have off... [Read more]

Courtesy 2008, December 3 A response to a blog entry by which is part of : Yes, you open a Pandora's box with this one. I could disagree with feminism being the reason. I do think it is a factor along with multi-culturalism and globalization. I think materialism is the root. We have grown away from traditional cultures with traditional mores. Common-courtesy is expressed differently in different cultures (specifics are not common to all). Globalization wears away s... [Read more]
Island Kingdoms

Island Kingdoms 2008, November 1 The Herald Journal out of Logan, Utah had a "Bloggers' challenge: Explain the Utah political landscape." http://hjnews.townnews.com/articles/2008/11/01/interact/interact01-10-27-08.txt This was an enlightening well thought out and written response: DarkHorseDown wrote on Oct 28, 2008 11:01 AM: " Utah offers a great glimpse into the dynamics of isolated groups on the political landscape. Insular groups define strength in terms of... [Read more]
The abuse of power
October 11, 2008 at 2:46am
The abuse of power 2008, October 11th One of my main concerns with the Bush administration was the bully attitude of "my way or the highway" strewn with lies and the heightening of fears. I was hoping that at least McCain would be above that. But ... he chose Palin and her guns and six-pack barrage against Obama, "He's not one of us" left me unsettled. After-all, which one of us will be pointed at next? I truly feel we need a healer not an abuser for president, especi... [Read more]
We Montanans can vote!
October 8, 2008 at 12:46am
We Montanans can vote! 2008, October 7th Put succinctly, the GOP in Montana decided to question thousands of voter registrations here in Montana. The list in Missoula County was rife with 18, 19, and 20 year olds, but even included folks in their 80s and 90s. Folks have been infuriated! And not only Democrats. The Lt. Gov who is Republican and many a Republican legislator were miffed too. They felt it put the GOP in a bad light and that it could backfire. It still might. The ... [Read more]
Palin looking pale

Palin looking pale 2008, September 1 Yep. Palin sure is pale. Nice sliced white-bread about to tell America that one can be a mother and a governor and maybe a president too! She's right, of course. No need to think that a mother that knows how to run a household, a family and the neighborhood street kids couldn't run a measly little white house (complete with picket fence). But is she that mother? Well, she's got a bunch of kids ... even going to have a grandkid so... [Read more]

Random rant on "Smart? I don't think so."
September 1, 2008 at 5:50pm
Smart? I don't think so 2008, June 24 Lawrence is smart? Gosh darn: http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2008/feb/21/lawrence_no_7_smart_cities_list/ I rather doubt that degrees = brains = smarts. They don't even know when to set the tornado sirens off around here and have been discussing a homeless shelter for nigh on 10 years with little progress. I'd rather live among dumb, kind and tolerant people than smart heartless idiots. In a recent on-line forum regarding a Cal T... [Read more]
