Ok so I am addicted...
I am addicted to this site. My housework gets overlooked. My finger are asleep as I surf hour after hour. I tell my kids, "Go play" so that I can read and write more. I can not stay away from my site. But hey, I know I am not the only Writing.com junkie!!!

I know it has been forever. But now school is out and I have more "me" time. I am so excited to have the down time to clean my home and spend with my family.
Tonight I watched videos of the boys as babies and toddlers. My oldest will be 12. Seems like yesterday I was dragging him to speech every other day and thinking how I would never get his speech corrected. NOW he is just a grown young man. Looking back on the videos I realized how much I do miss them being little again. My baby is almost 8. He thinks he is grown but will still get up in my lap sometimes for some cuddling. But I treasure even these minutes as I know soon they will be teens. I saw one of my newphews who just got married in the video. He was just around 12 then. Also my little nieces are now 16 and 17. Where did the time go?

Everyone is talking about goals and resolutions. I didn't make any. Maybe I should. Too much thinking for me. Maybe tomorrow I'll come up with something that is do-able.
I am so glad it is Friday-- I will sleep sooooooo late!!

In just a couple of hours, it starts for my family. We meet with inlaws. Then on to another house for extended family. Then home late for pulling all nighters waiting for Santa. Then up early to see what he brings and open presents. Then back to inlaws for breakfast. Then on to my sister's by 12 to spend with my side of the family. Then in the evening home again to enjoy what Santa brought. It is wild!!!

So it is Sunday night and I find myself walking around wondering what to do. I have no school tomorrow. I could wrap the rest of the presents. I could be cleaning. Yuck. So I am here instead.
C. is doing better after his 4 wheeler accident. He is still on short term disab. but getting better. I hope he will be cleared for work in Jan.
I am going to sleep late tomorrow. I am finished-- I think-- with my shopping. Finally!!!!

I come to this site two and three and sometimes more times a day. Yet, I am getting lazy about updating my journal or blog. I have always been like that anyway. If you look at my beginning date of this thing, you can see that.
So, I had a great Thanksgiving. Went to my sister's with my side of the family. Then in the evening toward 5, we went to my in-laws.
My husband had a bad 4 wheeler accident about three weekends ago. He was camping with the kids and his brother on the back property of his parents. It was after the AUBURN-ALABAMA game (WAR EAGLE) and it was dark. He hit a root and the thing flipped on him. He thought he was ok and went on his merry way. He started hurting some that night and went to his parents and sat in the recliner to sleep. Next morning he could not move. An ambulance was called and I met him at the hospital. THe good news was nothing was broken. But he has had a rough three weeks. He has cracked ribs and his whole back side and down his leg was a huge bruise. He has been on a walker. He is on short term disablilty. Lucky he has a great job and we are ok with money. But it is hard seeing him so dependent on others.
I have been shopping a lot this week. I am ahead (for me) on the Christmas shopping. I am thrilled about that!
I had to downgrade for a while on WDC but as Arnold saids in his movie, "I'll BE BACK!" I actually have saved all my writings on disk

I teach at a private school with a board of directors. Recently,it was decided a spot would be made for two teachers to be on the board. One from the lower school and one from the upper school. A vote was taken to take nominations and then another vote to be elected. I was elected for the lower school. I feel honored but a little nervous.

Recently I was appointed to a serve on a very important committiee for my school. My superintendant appointed me and it has been a honor to serve on this newly formed position. Well now I have been nominated by my peers to become a board member on our school board as a teacher rep. I will find out if I win tomorrow. One way or the other it would be great. But I am just happy to be thought highly enough of to be nominated.

Yeah -- so I so need an upgrade but it has to wait until after Christmas.
There is a nasty little virus bug going around. Friday- I had four kids --actually five if you count the kid in the other third grade puking. I felt little overwhelmed trying to call parents to come get them, taking care of all of them at once and still going on with class later. At first, I thought it must be food poisoning. But turns out a lot of kids have had the virus. So today--my own child has it. I also had three out (two of those that were sick Friday). My hubby stayed home with D. today. But D. is still sick so I have a sub for tomorrow. I hope I don't catch this mess. I had it over Christmas Day and it ruined my Christmas. I have been washing my hands like crazy. But I am looking forward to an extra day off work--even if my baby is sick. He should be over the worse by then.

I thought it would never get here. WHy is it that when you have Mondays off--- the week is longer. It is strange but true. Then I had meetings on Tuesday-- then one got canceled at last minute on Wed. Then had another on Thursday and then the Football game on Friday and then this morning we had to be at the soccer field for pictures early and then a game-- then straight to Mom and Dad 's and then on to my inlaws as my Mother in Law as shingles and a diseased gall bladder and is hurting badly-- but she wanted some company with the boys coming by. So we make it home here at 5 amd I was able to finally crash!! I slept for 2 hours /
Hubby has gone to a great football game out of town for the weekend... kind of different without him here. I miss him a lot. I think I will clean for a couple of hours now and then go back to bed. The kids are entertained with having some down time too. I think I will let them enjoy it without making them clean too.

The silver drops work. I am almost well. Those things suffocate bad germs from oxygen but the cell make up of the good germs is different so they do not suffocate. Unlike antibody--this stuff does not kill it all. IT only takes out the bad stuff. I was not sure if it worked. But in another day-- I think I will be completely well of a sinus infection. I usually keep those things even under doctor's care. I can tell though my body is in overdrive fighting as I am tired. But I feel so much better. SO IT DOES WORK!!!!

Yep. Today is the big day. I don't feel any older but everyone is having fun with the 40 thing. Hubby had to work this morning so the kids are anxiously awaiting to give me a "BIG" gift. I know it is big because my sister in law called to wish me a happy birthday and thought I had already gotten it. I don't know what it is but from the way she was talking and the way the kids are so excited-- who know? I love watching them whisper and I try to guess and they hold back smiles. It is all part of the fun.
My neighbors who are great friends left a tombstone with my name on it and cheese grater hanging from it. It said "You old feet--older than dirt." The grater is for my dry feet that everyone loves to tease me about.

So I was off Friday and I am off Monday. I am enjoying my fall break as my body has a sinus infection. I went and got some of those silver drops everyone talks about. i do think they are helping.
It is a rainy weekend but nice.
We went to see a play today. The kids loved it. I think K wants to start taking acting lessons in Jan. Should be fun!!

It is that time of year again where I get so busy -- I feel like I don't know whether I am going or coming. Anyway- things are going pretty good. I am going to get into writing some more of my book one of these days. I miss the writing -- I really do but I just don't have the time right now. I also have several things to edit in my
port. On top of that I have told several people I would read pieces. Anyway -- I am alive and will update again soon.

Yep! It is official. At least that is what my preacher says.
Now let me explain. He is teaching on personality types and comparing them to animals. So I am a Golden Retriever. His sermons have been awesome and he got this one right on the mark. It is all bibical too. I am goint to write a piece on all the animals and personalities soon. But as a dog, I am very sensitive and caring. I love it.

For all you who read my journal-- thank you-- because I know I am not the best at giving updates in my life. I hate when my favorites do not update every few days.
So I am back in school and have a good class. I have been feeling really great and hope it stays that way.
It is soooo hot here in Alabama. We have had a heat advisory out the last couple of days--- I think the heat index was 115. The thing is it is so muggy that you can't breathe good.

I went to a teacher conference for a week. I have to say it is the best one I have ever been to. In fact, I would go so far as to say it was life changing. I will be writing more about it. But it was an environmental educational type thing. We hiked and canoed and really got in touch with the outdoors. I caught bugs and little fish to investigate at the river. I also tested the river water. I got loads and loads of free resources such as lesson plans and posters and catalogs.. I got four t-shirts and a gift card to office depot. The amazing thing is all this for 6 days was free. We stayed in the dorms and ate at the college for breakfast. We went on a lot of field trips and they fed us well. One day we went for 14 hours straight. I am needless to say--- exhausted. I will write more of what I have learned later.
