An attempt at Haiku's each day beginning 2013 |
This is a well-intentioned beginning to what I hope will be a haiku a day, or thereabouts. |
trees trimmed for viewing imagined rockets red glare oh no! show cancelled |
airplanes trailing signs parade route defined with kids bar-b-ques ready |
a tree is in place the cabinets are delivered kitchen taking shape |
twenty four hours sweating, anxiously waiting for a cooler day |
A cool breeze welcomes a misty gray covers the skies moisture kept at bay |
sweat rolling from brow drips into the swimming pool water level rises |
unrelenting heat shrivels everything in sight I now envy moles |
excessive heat watch steamy nights, fitful sleeping need to hit the beach |
summer hair is short in come a few blonde highlights they replace the gray |
Sun is back early heat vacation is over watchful eyes scanning |
dirty grey skies hang sparing us the extreme heat postponing summer |
staring at the screen while eating popcorn loudly the noise is not ours |
Super-moon shining pink clouds laze over mountains orange blossoms glow |
noisy hub of work hammers, chainsaws and music they start so early |
wouldn't you know it a high wind warning last night outdoor room collapsed |
Tiny black flies bite vampire mamas suck your blood I will stay indoors |
Gazebo coming soon I'll be bug free, shade rich summer nearly here |
the sun burst through fog to bring on the heat early please put on sunscreen |
every little tweet heard as Happy Father's Day do birds know their dads? |
The arch enemy is beginning to take shape in spite of the day |
