A while back, I decided for myself to be more positive. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But we have to try, right? My co-workers make it very difficult, so my struggle is a daily one. Being a grown-up doesn't mean you act like one, lets just say. After finding Fran 🏅🇬🇧🇬🇧🏅   's challenge, "Three Daily Beams of Positivity"  , she brought this decision back to mind, and I am certain that I can find at least a few things positive in my day to day life.  ** Image ID #2051379 Unavailable **

 Today is my final day, woot woot!  I MADE IT! As much as I try to stay positive and upbeat, I have to admit that with the job I do and the folks I work with, some days I really had to dig to find happy thoughts, lol! But I succeeded! Its an amazing feeling!  Destiny slept over tonight, and that made a long, tiring day at work so worth it. She is my joy. I laughed so hard at Destiny using voice-to-text my great niece who's 18. The translation of a five year old's pronunciations were a riot! | I am very proud of myself for being almost finished with my thirty day Positivity Challenge - one more day! I am more proud that I recognized so many positive things! I enjoyed my day off today. Got a few things done, and a lot of rest! I have to work the weekend, so I have to rest up while I can. Got lots of orders for the Sig Shop! It took me a while to work out the kinks of the program I'm using, but I delivered all orders today to some very satisfied customers. | It seems my Sig Shop is a hit! I'm saving the proceeds to renew my Premium Membership for three more months. I love this site, and I will work hard to stay here! Looking forward to being off work tomorrow. I count my blessings, but rest is one of them, and I revel in it when I get the chance! Heard from both of my sons today. I miss them both very much, but I talk to them every chance I get. They both live about 40 minutes from me, in opposite directions. Love my boys! | I decided today that I want to start a Signature Shop, here on WDC. I've been playing around with apps and such, and I now know how to produce quality sigs! Found a few free image sites, so now I'm ready to roll! I found out today that my Destiny passed her Pre-K assessment with flying colors. I am so proud of my little love. She is so bright and beautiful! She brings me such joy! I am really tired today, but I'm remembering how fortunate I am to have a good job. Praise God, for all my many blessings! | I decided today to try and keep a positive outlook at work all the time, even when nasty customers try to provoke me. I know they probably don't feel well, thus the need for medicine. God, grant me the strength to keep smiling! Today was a busy day at work, but that is a good thing. It makes the day go by so much faster! I've been having a lot of pain from sinus the past week or so. Tired of suffering, I searched products and finally decided to try Tylenol Severe Sinus, and it worked wonders! | Today at work, I was thinking about how much I love my job. It is 100% a better job than any I've had before. I am very grateful. Had a very peaceful day at work, thank You God! Thank You God for blessing my sister Nancy, that her husband's kidney cancer surgery went well. Prayers were answered, and I know that her heart and mind are much eased. I love her so much. | Today was a relaxing day, except for waiting for my turn in the Review Relay Race. As it turns out, some of our players did not participate, so we never finished the first round. I never even got a turn to review, but I stayed by my Captain's side and was in constant contact with her, cheering our team on regardless. At the end, I was the first to congratulate the Orange team, because that is good sportsmanship, and they did a great job! I found myself remembering my dear friend Cheryl Pangle, who was my online friend back in 2000. I talked to her the morning before her husband murdered her, their five children, set the home on fire and committed suicide. She was a precious person, and her tragic death was a wakeup call to me and is why I finally left my abusive husband. I will never forget her. I watched my favorite show, "Answered Prayers." I love hearing others say exactly what I feel about God and faith. He answers all my prayers! Today was a very restful and relaxing day. Did a little cleaning and catching up on my shows on the DVR. Ahhh, so nice. Had a homemade burger for supper - very yummy! All in all, a very nice day. Got a great deal on trashbags of all things, lol! Two boxes of 48 count each Heftys for $2 each box (regularly $7.98 each box)! I called my other sister and told her they were all hers (we use bigger bags), and she was thrilled! I LOVE getting a bargain! Feeling so nice that I don't have to work my other job tomorrow. As much as I loved the money, the stress was just too much. I actually started feeling sick tonight until I reminded myself that I've quit. | Today was a short work day. It was a pretty calm day, and everything went smoothly. All in all a peaceful, tranquil workday. I talked to a customer whom I haven't seen in quite a while. She has cancer, and she is just the sweetest lady ever. I told her I have had her on my mind, to which she replied, "Well God must have put me in your mind for a reason. Please pray for me." I assured her that I have and I will. God bless her heart! Such a nice, cool evening! It reminds me of fall, my favorite season of all. | Today I felt a renewed sense of pride in my work. The knowledge that I do my job well and with the best interest of the customer, gave me a great sense of pride. I know that no matter how my superiors and coworkers might take the customer needs for granted, I truly try to have true regard for them. Starting today, I am going to stop letting things get under my skin, such as petty coworker comments or the few rude customers that we receive. I will not let them drag me into their darkness - I am much too bright of a spirit for that. This is just the devil's way of attacking me through them! I will let my light shine, in hopes that they will follow my lead - not vice versa. Its been a very long week, but after one more short day my weekend will be here, and I can relax! | Today I am a Newbie no more! I have been a member for six months, and am so proud and pleased with all I have accomplished. I am also so grateful to all the kind and helpful members who made becoming an active member of this site such a breeze! This evening Destiny and her parents came by the pharmacy to see me. Never does it fail to thrill me upon seeing my darling girl, and during a particular rough day, she was a breath of fresh air. God knows I love that child! Got a kick out of buying the new Lays Biscuit & Gravy potato chips and getting coworkers to try them. They are so bizarre as far as chip flavors go - we couldn't decide if they were good or bad! | I found an SD card with photos and video of Destiny when she was ages one and two. I was so delighted to see her chubby little face, and just knowing I still have these memories makes me giddy with happiness! I made the decision today to quit my sitting job. It has just become too hard on me physically and emotionally. As soon as I let my niece know that I wasn't coming back, I felt a huge weight lift from me. Sometimes you just have to do what makes you happy. I watched the episode of "Answered Prayers" that I had recorded from Sunday. It was so amazing and sweet & touching. It gives such great examples of God's devotion to us. He is utterly astounding! | The new series "Answered Prayers," reminds me to testify to my own miracles! God sends me angels all the time. I used to get so upset if I was running late and a slowpoke car pulled out in front of me. Now I look up and say, "I know You are slowing me down to keep me safe." A couple of years ago, after having pain shooting down my left arm, my sister insisted I go to the E.R. They gave me a nitro patch, and the pain stopped, so they kept me overnight, hooked to an EKG. The next morning, the Cardiologist came in and told me he saw a blockage in my major artery, and they rushed me to a big hospital thirty miles away by ambulance and straight into the cath lab. When I woke up, they said there was no blockage, and my heart was as perfect as the day I was born. GOD made that blockage go away! God answers every one of my prayers - except for one. The one where I asked Him to let Destiny be returned to her parents, which I know now was simply a grieving grandmother wanting her baby girl back home. But God knew better! Sitting with my little elderly gentleman today. He was in good spirits and was teasing me, as usual, lol. Hes a real sweetie! Got Mr. Gregory to eat a sunny-side up egg this morning. His appetite has been nil lately, and when he does eat, he gets sick. He was so proud that my egg was the only thing he kept down all week.  We watched some really good movies today. Since it is a Sunday, there's usually not much good on, which makes for a boooring day, but not this time! | Had a baby shower to attend today. Destiny's big sister is having a boy, and Destiny is so excited to be an Auntie at five, lol. It was a lot of fun. They played a candy game, and I won three packs of candy bars! I asked Destiny's mom if she could go with my nieces and I out to supper. She said yes, so I got to spend more time with my girl. Too tired to eat, due to missing her nap, she entertained us with her very grown up dialogue. The day just keeps getting better! Destiny's mom called me and asked if Des could just spend the night. Woot woot! Destiny said, "Mommy was thinking the same thing we were, Nanny," since she had asked me earlier if she was sleeping over. So I got to cuddle and watch kid movies with my little love. | After three days off, I had a very good day at work. Feeling more and more blessed each and every day. Both of my sons are working, and that is something I have prayed over for months. As for my job, I dearly love it - minus the ocassional irate customer or snotty coworker. Its a true gift from God to be able to help others through effiency, giving advice, or helping them find an item when no one else could be bothered to. And the smile on their face is reward enough. My favorite customer came in today. Her name is Barbara, and I could swear she is an angel. Never have I met such a sweet, caring person. She tells me I'm always so good to her, and I tell her she is easy to be kind to, because she is so precious. "Precious," is the nickname she has for me, ironically. My manager was actually pretty cool tonight. He can be a bit of a snob at times (sorry, but true, lol), but he was actually fun to be around. Boo yah! Woke up this morning and checked my email. I found an Awardicon for this very journal from the wonderful, amazing Tiggy  . I was so surprised and thrilled! The people on this site have shown me how it feels to be treated like I matter. I have gained more self-esteem in my six months here than in the seven YEARS on my job! What this tells me is: Writers are genuinely good people, and we're not afraid to show it! All my life I have felt like an outsider, simply because I tried to be a good person. It certainly has never been a fad, or "cool," at least at my schools and workplaces. Cruelty and indifference have reigned supreme there. One example that comes to mind was when 9/11 happened. I watched the news in horror, and cried all the way to work that evening. When I got there, a female coworker asked why I was crying. I said," Haven't you seen the news?" to which she replied, "Oh, yeah. Thats awful ain't it? Did you know somebody in the buildings?" That was it. As if we were talking about a random news story. No, I didn't know any of those people, but I grieved for months. I wept for those who lost their lives, their families - especially the children, for the Fire-fighters and the Reverend who lost their lives once the rescue mission started. So much loss -- it tore my heart apart. These were strangers, yet they mattered to me. These were human beings, who were so afraid before God took them home. The song Silent Night 9/11 played on all the radio stations, and I openly wept. These people MATTERED! Sorry for the outburst, but this is a very tender subject with me. As it should be. God bless all those who are fighting right now to show those dear, precious souls how much they mattered -- and still do! | Went to visit my home health patient (my second job), Mr. Gregory today. I've not been there since I had surgery, so it was good to see him. He's not been doing well, and at the age of eighty-nine, has just about lost his life during a couple of close-calls. He has made his peace with God, and that makes me very happy. He is not just my patient, he's my friend. Went grocery shopping today. Made a few good (better than usual, lol) choices. Chobani Greek yogurt flip cups instead of ice cream, and banana granola bars (yummy!) instead of cookies.I did, however, get fixins for Club sandwiches. The ham and turkey are low-fat, but the bacon, swiss, and mayo are definitely not, lol! Sorry, but some things I just cannot substitute low-fat and have it taste the same - and those are some of them! Oh, the sandwich? DELISH!  Last night I was looking over my Community Recognition page. I clicked on some of my favorite Merit Badges (The StoryMistress  always makes them so PRETTY!), when I read some of the reasons people awarded me the badges.I was brought to tears by praises like, "Thank you so much for being such an awesome, helpful and supportive member of WDC! You're amazing! *Bigsmile*" and "Thank you for all your help crediting reviews for "Sisco's Good Deed Group". I really appreciate you helping out when I was busy with other things, and I know that Cope and Sisco will also be very appreciative. To take on a task like this with no expectation of reward is exactly the inspiration behind the group and so I think you deserve this merit badge. *Smile*" These words mean so much MORE than a pretty badge. They make me feel like an appreciated, worthy member of WDC, and that is something I am extremely proud of. My six months here have brought me sheer joy! | My dear friend pinkbarbie asked me to judge the Supernatural Writing Contest. Such good entries! I really enjoyed reading them all. Its fun to be involved in the WDC Community! This is not the first contest I've judged -- I've been delighted to be a Newbies Are The Judge contest judge for the past two rounds, and hope to get a final round in before my newbie status runs out on the fifth. I've been doing a lot of Product Reviews for Angel Product Reviews. This is so cool! I get to tell everyone about my favorite books and movies, and why I think they will like them. I have a LOT of faves! My eldest son called and told me he started orientation today. I am so grateful to God for Walmart calling him back after he admittedly made the hasty decision to quit.This job will be stocking, which doesn't sound like much, but is just what he needs -- to work on his own. Brandon has been diagnosed with Anti-social Disorder years ago. Its a chemical imbalance which causes a person to have extrene anxiety when around large, or even small groups of people. He takes medicine, but I truly think he will be happy working by himself, and thats what I've prayed for, a job he will enjoy and find peace with. | Pretty tired today, after working the weekend. My manager reminded me that I had posted a vacation week on the calender, and asked if I still wanted to use it - YESSIR! I had previously thought I would have to be out of work for six weeks instead of two, and would have to use them to pay insurances. Thank God for only needing two weeks! Had a good day at work. Coworkers are still being kind. Such harmony since I came back from LOA. Ahhh, this is nice. I told one of my pharmacists, Diane, that I have just come to realize that I am happier right now than I have been -- probably my whole life. No stress, no resentment, no worry. Just inner peace.
