Only death can free the escaped convict and greatest impostor of all time from his past.
As a child Marc was humiliated and degraded in ways that left deep jagged emotional scars and a ferocious longing for love and self-esteem. But his road to respect and acceptance is paved with drugs, rape and prison. |
With a possible death sentence hanging over him, Marc escapes and has a fierce desire to make a success of his new life.
He believes that the only way to be accepted is to be respected. He starts out as a farmer on a Kibbutz and, without any qualifications, he becomes a surgeon. In danger of being found out, Marc flees to Europe where his determination and audacity takes him from a night-watchman’s job to the head of a robotics company and owner of two airlines. He is appointed President of an International Chamber of Commerce, and advisor to top politicians. Marc soon finds himself embroiled in a political scandal that sees two ministers sent to prison. He is arrested but manages to steal a yacht and flee the country. Marc tries to rebuild his life but eventually loses his fight. Penniless he decides to fake his own death to collect an insurance pay-out, but finds that the death of Marc is only a new beginning for Claude.
