My Search

I

Into the mystic realm,
I let my mind take flight,
Over stone strewn highways,
I search the endless night.

I was the Wanderer,
Looking for a goal,
And the Seeker,
Searching for my soul.

I walked the roads of idle fancy,
Paths of material delight,
Stumbling over stones of vain imaginings,
In my search for the light.

A voice deep within me cried:
"Here doesn't lay your goal,
Upon these darkened pathways,
You'll never find your sou."

II

Into the mystic realm,
Again my mind took flight,
Over well traveled highways,
I search the misty twilight.

I was a Seeer,
Seeking an unknown goal,
And a Stranger,
To my own soul.

In this realm of half-light,
I strolled the roads of tradition,
Picking my way carefully,
Through the shadows of superstition.

Still from within came the cry:
"Not in this realm is your goal,
Upon these half-lit pathways,
You'll never find your soul"

III

Into the mystic realm,
Again I took flight,
And walked the paths,
Where God has shed His light.

I walked the hallowed highways,
Trod by the Prophets of old,
Strolled the ancient paths,
Strewn with nuggets of pure gold.

This is the wondrous realm,
Where all paths become one,
This is the glorious land,
Illuminated by God's sun.

Through the Word of God,
I have found my soul,
In the Messenger for this age,
I have found my goal.

The atoms of its beauty! What makes morning cold? Shedding its grandeur into space earth bleeds for the Beloved! Who ignites the dawn? Rays of living light dispel the legions of night! {dropnote:"Poet's Note:"}I wrote this sometime in 150 B.E. The inspiration ... [Read more]

Varieties of Existence
October 25, 2018 at 4:04pm
Varieties of Existence: Two Interrelated Poems Poem 1: Philosophical Questions Are we images in somebody else's dream; illusions to be dispelled with a waking scream? Is this incongruity, that we call reality, part of a greater existence? The varieties of existence are limited to the stations of Deity, Prophethood, and Servitude. The darkness quivers, as the rising light dispels the legions of hate. Poem 2: Meditation on Existence Deity ... [Read more]

February 22, 2019 at 9:24pm
Thanksgiving Everyday Let us be like the Native Americans, who every morning give thanks to the Great Spirit. Can you imagine how God feels to receive thanks only once a year for His daily blessings. If at dawn you rise and speak His name in thanks, you will celebrate Thanksgiving everyday of the year. Out of Africa I Within the mist of time the reason hides that first caused our migration out of Africa, and generated evolution's color change. II Africa, the Motherland, out of her rich soil their grew a tree, whose boughs and branches overshadowed planet Earth. A tree, whose exquisite blossoms produce humanity's finest fruits. Meditation on the Power of the Holy Spirit When Proclaiming Baha'u'llah The center to which I withdraw projects an image of cool calm. I am not the one being asked the questions. On the Sea
October 6, 2018 at 4:27pm
On the Sea Floating on the sea of Darkness, I drift with the tide, the splinters of my broken mast, upon the deck were lying. The tatters of my torn sails, were flying in the wind, no anchor, save a broken chain to keep my soul from harm. In deep depression, quite distrought, and drifting near the reef I cried in fear: "Oh, God!" Floating on the Sea of LIght, I sail with the wind. New mast, new sails, new anchor, new chain. Secure within the Ark of God, I neit... [Read more]

Life's Journey: Contemplating the Immortality of the Soul A journey we begin at birth, on this small speck of dust called Earth, over life's broad highway many plod, leaving the narrow paths untrod. From birth to death some may race, considering life a game of chase, beyond death's door they refuse to look, as if this material life were a closed book. Spiritual Lessons

1 The Lesson Today began as yesterday, I woke with the morning sun, Looked around, but didn't see the reason for rising so early. Went back to sleep, woke at ten, and missed the rising sun. I said my prayers, (as a duty) with my mind on material things and missed a blessing. 2 Yesterday and Today Yesterday I spoke with God, Today no word I prayed. Yesterday God gave me peace of mind, Today no peace have I. 3 Personal Note Remember to say a prayer... [Read more]

In Contemplation: To Dorothy Cruiikshank Coffrey
December 11, 2018 at 11:25pm
In Contemplation: To Dorothy Cruikshank Coffrey In contemplation we relive our days of flower and flame, and in the process sooth the grief caused by the death of dreams. In contemplation we regret untaken autumn walks, and rue our busy silence when love ones cease the talk. In contemplation we remember starlight in a lover's hair, and the quiet loveliness at the parting of our ways. In contemplation we put on laughter's invincible armor, to face the bittersweet... Spiritual Poetry
