The Gang

Sir Egg Cup and his spoon
takes a tired bow,
his friend, the bulldog clip,
long departed now.

And neighbour Coffee Mug aloof,
beverage proud and bold,
has little time for lesser vessel -
a snob he is I’m told.

But now the flashy keyboard black,
rattling through the day,
gabbles words and words and words,
cares not who hears him say.

While bright and wise, the Monitor,
gazes on them all,
though chief among assembled crew,
Remote has final call.

Medicine dispenser, calendar,
eyeglasses and more;
they crowd around me every day,
assistants to the core.
