First Poem Written as Ida Matilda Slusher
My Heart
My heart has chipped
By pain from love past
It has fallen and tripped
Over events not meant to last
No I realize my hearts shattered
Pieces falling off day by day
Tiny shards loosly scattered
Wet with my tears along the way
Three parts are in Kentucky
One in Tennessee
one by Florida's sea
One part locked away from me
Today another fell and flew away
Is there any heart left
I cry, I hurt, I pry
For one tiny splinter for myself.
