Tickets to My Downfall

A collection of short stories inspired by the mgk album of the same name.

I haven't historically had much success with the "Musicology Anthology" challenge, so I'm going to mix it up this year and use a different rationale for picking the album. Rather than choose one based on how much I love it and how many of the tracks I'm really excited about, I'm going to chose one where I think the song lyrics are interesting enough to inspire a variety of different stories.

Although I like quite a few of mgk's songs (especially since he evolved his sound from rap to more punk rock), I don't know that I love this or any of his other albums beyond just a couple of songs. The rest of the track lists on his albums are just okay from a musical perspective, but I'm thinking there's enough in the content of the songs and the complexity of the lyrics that I think I'll have something to write about for each song. Essentially, rather than my previous year methodology of, "What songs do I want to listen to on repeat for months?", this year I'm going with, "What album is interesting source material even if it's not something that I think is a home run, musically speaking?"
