Online journal capturing the moment and the memory of moments. A meadow meditation. |
L'aura del campo 'é a lua, é a lua, na quintana dos mortos' ♣ Federico García Lorca ♣ L'aura del campo. A breeze in the meadow. So it began the last day of Spring, 2005; on the 16th day of the month of Light of the year 162. This is a supplement to my daily journal written to a friend, my muse; notes I do not share. Here I will share what the breeze has whispered to me. PLEASE LEAVE COMMENTS! I LV COMMENTS! Windpump The metallic dandelion clock stands derelict to it's duty next to the abandoned drive-in diner parking lot. So much waste on the plains of Kansas, once fertile prairies scarred by concrete slabs and plastic straws in a haste to mine all assets, to prime the pump of plenty, increase the flow of paper bucks — lest the future be dammed as all returns to the poverty of dust. © Copyright 2021 Kåre Enga [178.3] (23.mars.2021) 12 lines free verse http://www.historyofwindmills.com/picture/picture-of-wind-water-pump/ |

I was raised with the adjective but the noun is more interesting imho. halcyon (noun): a mythical bird said to breed at the time of the winter solstice in a nest floating on the sea and to have the power of calming the winds and waves 105.041 |
Opera at midnight A fox chases a rabbit across an ebony field intent on supper until an owl wings its flight joining the chase while arrows fly from the Night-Hunter's quiver, he-who-strolls-amid-moonbeams, as his canine yaps in the language of stars, so soft ... like a whisper ... till a CLAP of thunder awakens the audience and skies weep with delight. © Copyright 2021 Kåre Enga [178.11] (27.march.2021) 15 lines free verse For March '21

Solo for moon and water On the frozen river bank, a sliver of moon above it adrift, chimes descend like a trance to shimmer the bridge of memory that dances like midges moving to the sway of a drifter that clings to rocks in meditation, sings to transcend the key of D, to free her of this rime that binds as arpeggios climb and lift her high enough to break away from locks that shackle her to this place and time. © Copyright 2021 Kåre Enga [177.370] (16.mars.2021) 12 lines For

Green pancakes Dad, add mint and hope — to dispel the stench of last night's snores — that raspy voice of dreams, mix in milk to make it creamy — bananas to give some substance — baking powder to fluff it up — pour on a hot griddle, flip when done — a feast for Sunday morning's breakfast — then lick the plate clean when finished; but I beg — please leave some for your monkey. © 2021 Kåre Enga [177.360] (2.mars.2021) 8 lines, 80 syllables total, fun with the — emdash Using "EXPRESS IT IN EIGHT" prompts: mint, hope, voice For "Invalid Item" Green pancakes are a thing!
