Start Writing Season with a relaxed writing challenge. Choose a 5K or 10K goal, write at your own pace throughout September, earn Merit Badges, and celebrate your progress with the community.

The WdC Fun Run is the easiest way to jump into Writing Season. Set a 5,000-word or 10,000-word goal for September, then write however works best for you. Claim your bib, choose your goal, and start writing whenever you're ready.

Whether you're continuing an existing project, beginning something brand new, or simply writing a little each day, every word brings you one step closer to your finish line.

Along the way you'll unlock Merit Badges, celebrate milestones with the community, and discover fresh daily writing prompts and optional activities to help keep your momentum going, even on days when inspiration is hard to find. There are no rankings, no pressure, and no wrong way to participate... just writers encouraging writers.

Everything you need to complete Fun Run is available to every member. Register, track your progress, earn Merit Badges, complete your goal, earn a Portfolio Awardicon, and celebrate alongside the Writing.Com community.

Members who choose to upgrade unlock additional Writing.Com tools, including Books, advanced organization features, and other writing resources, but upgrading is completely optional (see: Paid Memberships )
