 
This forum is to honor those that have passed on. Stomper was the original creator and now it will have a permanent home under the wings of "The WDC Angel Army"  .
I have met a few of the authors with a white case and others I only got to know through their writings. Now we can really get to know who these authors were by reading what they wrote.
I would certainly like to acknowledge lizco252 for the wonderful trophy she gave to this forum.
Also a quick note to anyone and everyone who is a member of WDC - if you have ANY suggestions or any particular items from these authors you would like highlighted, please let me know or post it in the forum and I will be more than happy to add them in.

Michelle is another author that left us with many writings to view. One of the items I found in Blue Thunder's port is and I have to put a link in to one of my favourite poems of hers as well .
Though a lot of her writing is on the darker side, Michelle was actually a very funny and warm person. Everytime I got an email from her, I just knew I had to put an hour aside to read it. She was such a great lady and a great asset to the WDC community and I am sure that she has touched many members here.

Spongebob Squarepants had a zest for life that you can see when you read her bio.
She wrote a lot of stories that are listed as comedy and satirical. I read and got a really good laugh out of it. This is another good one as well I truly enjoyed reading what she wrote.
Do you prefer reading lighter pieces? Then you'll surely enjoy the cheery air in Lindsey's port (she has a delightful sense of humour though not all of her writings are funny). If you ever pop over for a visit, allow me to recommend " After School" , " The Value of a Noun" , and " Entangled Genes" .

She was a friend, sister and mentor to so many around the site and her loss is one that will be felt for a long time to come as she was young and had so much to offer. Dawn was an amazing writer. She was very cheerful, and very heart warming. She was a very devoted mother of two and a devoted wife. She worked hard at keeping all in line inside the chat room here at Writing.com, and many looked forward to seeing her each passing day. Her jokes were the funniest and her pleasant attitude will always be remembered.

"Years ago, I met a dear man here who became my friend.....a brother I had never known. He encouraged me in ways I could never have repaid, but somehow, he seemed to think I had. I was blessed that he loved my words........and even moreso, that he loved me. When I was down, he would arrive with a 'big ole bear hug' as he was fond of referring to a line from the movie "Coal Miner's Daughter'......and it became a joke for us. When I formed the Circle of Sisters, Larry wanted to do something similar for men, and he started a men's group -- I believe it was called "Where's the Remote"..... What he didn't quite anticipate was that men needed more of challenge than merely to love! Although his group consisted of many of my dear friends - John emilbus, Scott anghusrns , and others, it soon fizzled out. I believe he would have paid dearly with giftpoints for just one day in the kitchen!!! He is one of only a few I would have considered it for!
When I took a sabatical from this site, Larry waited anxiously for my return and wrote of the indian maiden returning to her village...."and from the banks, they watched for her' -- and I cried. When he needed to go, I knew the reasons were ones I had to honor....but we remained in touch through email and facebook. When he returned here, I was filled with joy but worried that once again, he would become overwhelmed with all his heart hoped to accomplish. What I know now is that the seeds he planted will bloom long beyond the thirteenth moon.
There are few men that I know well enough to say they belong at the side of God....but Larry is one. When our friend John passed almost two years ago, we were both heart-broken (as were many others). Now, I imagine Larry and John sitting along the ridge........and I know the buffalo are beautiful.
I will always miss my friend.......in ways I have no words to say....but know that one day, I will join him and it will be a grand reunion."

Sometimes words seem inadequate, and simply not enough to express sorrow, and even as I type this I have to wonder if she's chiding me again for overthinking things.
She was always like that - more than just another writer on this site - but a mentor and friend who was always ready to listen and help me out when I needed her the most. She was my cheerleader even though she went through difficult times herself. She would open up her heart to me, knowing I couldn't do much more than 'listen' to her complaints and offer the best help I could. She would always say that was more than enough for her; and she relished in looking at the bright side of things instead of focusing on the bleak.
If there is one thing I can say about Judy - it's that she was a fighter. She never gave up until the end choosing to return time and time again to a site she considered a second home. You will be sorely missed, Judy, more than words can ever express. Your zest for life was contagious and an example of how we ought to live when faced with obstacles that seem impossible to overcome.
Thank you for everything, my friend, and may you find peace and solace with the angels above.

Judy was a wonderful woman and although I never had the chance to meet her in real life, she was like a second mother to me. She helped me through two rough break-ups, through the storms of major depression and yet we had many laughs together through many good times. I'm going to miss not being able to write her and sending her pictures of my parties, from holidays with the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus (Emma, her granddaughter, loved the Easter Bunny pictures) and of course my poetry for her to critique. I am also going to miss the e-mails of encouragement, because that is what Judy was best at. Despite the rough patches, she'd encourage everyone to get back up, brush yourself off, and try again. Failure wasn't in her lingo and that's what I admired most about her.
Though I will not have the chance to write her again or get comments from her via Facebook about notes of my writings that got published or were going to get published (and needed feedback) and pictures, she is still with me in spirit and in my heart. Though her presence is no longer on Earth, her presence is in spirit. I am blessed that I had Judy as a friend and her kindness will always be apart of me, as well as a lot of people of the Writing.com community.
We will miss you, Judy. Rest in peace.

I first met Ray when he participated in my Inspirations contest in late Spring of 08, shortly after he joined the site. We became friends and I later sponsored him as a Rising Star. In recent months he had become very active on the site, getting more into reviewing, writing for different contests and trying different styles. He was thrilled in February to be recognized as a preferred author here.
Over the past year and a half we were very close. From the time I first met him he would say "I'm long on opinion, and short on answers." He was rarely at a loss for words. I came to know him as an endless source of support, encouragement, and love for those he was close to; as a rare combination of strength and tenderness; as a brilliant man with a tireless mind; as both wise, savvy and innocent; as honest and forthright as he stood up for things he believed in and wasn't afraid to speak his mind; as an advocate for integrity and "living your truth"; as spiritual, insightful, and understanding; as a "hopeless romantic"; and as the funniest person I've ever known. He was one of a kind. He will be greatly missed.

To those who did not know Jaye, I would like to tell you about her. Jaye was a beautiful woman who belonged to many Writing.Com groups. Her reviews were always honest, yet kind, and she was compassionate and loved by numerous people on the site. Jaye was not just a dear friend of mine, but one of my cherished WDC sisters. She was a talented writer, excellent moderator, and published author. My heart felt as if it had been extracted when she passed away. I knew she had been ill because she sent me an email apologizing that she had not been on the site much, but never did I expect that we would be losing her. My consolation is knowing that she is now sleeping with the angels and in His gentle, loving arms. I will miss Jaye terribly, but always hold the memories of her in my heart. God bless you, my darling sister and friend.You will live in my thoughts and prayers eternally.

This poem is written and dedicated to a special friend and mentor, Carolina Blue ... I did not know him but a few years, but that didn't stop him from teaching me many valuable lessons. He taught me how to have faith – both in myself and something greater. He taught me the value in caring about politics – having an opinion and sharing it. He taught me how it feels to write a poem without restriction instead of conforming to highly-structured forms.
I could go on and on, but what it comes down to is this: The world may go on with one less snowflake to fall, but to those who were touched by the beauty and soul of that one snowflake that left us, we know we were special in having been there to see it, no matter how briefly it was here.

Ernie E. Coder passed away in the hospital in Calgary, Alberta
I knew Ernie through the writing.com website for a number of years. He was always ready with words of encouragement, a joke to share or a funny story to read. He was one of the few people I would class as an online friend. I never had the pleasure of meeting or speaking to him in "real life", but through his words on here, I could tell he was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humour and a love of life.
I'd like to think Ernie was proud of the little gang of missfits he put together in The Pub. He gave us somewhere to come on the site to improve and share. It was never too serious, but it was focused.
The place just won't be the same without Ernie.

I will miss Ernie (E E Coder). Ernie was one of the first authors I met when I found WDC seven years ago this month. We quickly discovered we shared some of the same interests beyond writing. We both enjoyed reading anything and everything about history. Ernie was 'the boss' in our writing group and was always there when anyone needed inspiration. Writing.com and all his writing friends lost someone special.

I first met hbar through " Invalid Item" , where I am a member and leader. He was one of the very first members to join, and his reviews were steady and growing in fame. He was close to SAJ's founder, warriormom, and her praise of this extraordinary man was not exaggerated, I was to discover upon meeting him. He never lacked a joke, a thank you or a teasing comment, and we exchanged a lot of crazy emails. :-[ I always get a smile looking back through them. I wish I could have met him in real life.
The news of his death really hit me hard, harder than I could have imagined...
John, your emails always gave me a laugh, and your reviews were so encouraging and helpful. I loved your honesty and humour, and working alongside you was always lots of fun.
I was especially touched by your courage during your struggles. You hardly ever mentioned it, as if unwilling to let your friends suffer what you felt. We all carry burdens of our own, now, dealing with your loss.
I will miss you so much. Rest in peace, old friend. I know that heaven is a brighter place with you around.

His support and encouragement of Writing.Com, our members and of me personally was especially important in the early days of our community. This is sad and shocking news. To see a white case next to Deanna's name seems unreal. I got to know ItchyWater when she took my comma class a few years ago where she shared her delightful personality and sense of humor with us. I have been wondering about Deanna, and I even asked a few members about seeing here here in the past few months and none of them knew. I missed her really. She was a great friend and a great person, a person I won't ever forget. She was an angel and her generosity and kindness really touched me. I'll always remember Harry for his helpfulness and kindness in the reviews he gave, and, his appreciation in receiving reviews. Harry was easy to spot with his "signature umbrella" on his case. I always enjoyed reading his storoems. It was that word that got me to try my hand at writing a story-oem myself. Oddly enough, it was about Southern traditions. Harry was the epitome of a classy Southern gentleman, and a wonderful writer. He will be missed around the halls of WDC.

Yellow Roses had a special place in her heart for Veterans. If you look in her notebook, she posted tributes on Veterans Day, Pearl Harbor Day and D Day, never forgetting the military and their sacrifices.
For me personally she was there every time I logged in during my hardest time when my husband was critically ill for months and then my niece died and my own health was deteriorating. Every time I would log in, she would send me raffle tickets. Every single time that year of 2011 she never forgot me. I always knew I'd have a little something in my mail to thank her for. When I might have thought otherwise that no one cared she and Megan never forgot me that year. I probably would have drifted away without Yellow Roses and Princess Megan Rose to lift me up. You know someone is special when they reach out for you when you are down.

In Memoriam Home Page

A friend across the miles, we met through Writing.com via the internet. We formed a connection, a bond and soon were sisters at heart. She mentored me with my writing, encouraged me with her phone calls and made me smile when life seemed bleak. I watched her as she helped others and strove to spread encouragement across the miles via this wonderful community. Sherri was all about family, bloodborne and heart created. Family was everything to her. I never met a person who didn't consider her a friend or sibling at heart.
As her health began to deteriorate more and more she regretfully had to excuse herself from the site, though she did keep tabs on things through her network of friends. Her goal was to rest and recuperate so that she could return to us here each day.
Sadly on November 2, 2015, our angel at heart left this world. Though she isn't here to speak with me on the phone, I can still hear her words as she laughs in the background, "Never fear sis, I will always be here watching over your shoulder, I am here for you". Nothing rings more true. Through her reviewing group, Simply Positive, Sherri's legacy will go on. She will be remembered as others spread positive messages across Writing.com through their reviews.
I love ya sis. Things will never be the same, but you will always, as before, be here with me.

I am struggling with this so hard, this awful news.
She mattered to me and we mattered to each other.
That means a lot here and otherwise and no one can change the fact that Sherri did kind things quietly for the right reasons.
Into paradise the angels are already leading her. I don't know much about what goes on, but I do know that.

I wasn't as close to Sherri as some here were, but I do remember her way back when. I remember when she was a Preferred Author and I'm pretty sure she had the same costumicon--moon and stars. She was always shining. Then I remember she was in the hospital a few times, and seemed to get sick easily. But she always ran her Simply Positive review site, which I had joined quite a while ago. What a generous person she was in rewarding reviewer gift points and merit badges! Unbelievable, along with sending e-notes with encouraging messages and kind words.
It didn't really hit me yesterday until I clicked on the funeral announcement, where her picture was. BAM. Like a knife in the gut, it triggered the tears.
Sleep tight, sweet Sherri. May your legacy here never be forgotten.

Sherri was one of the first people to welcome me with a warming hug and encouragement on the site, but her and I often had countless phone binges together, sometimes with other members too, like ~WhoMe???~ . She was an incredibly generous person who welcomed anyone to her corner of the world with open arms. Sometimes I feel like Sherri was born to be a grandmother. She was to her family of course, in which she was highly involved, but I always pictured her making a fuss over every visitor that crossed her doorway, providing them with warm cookies, hot cocoa, and a glowing fire to sit and chat around. She was generous, full of humor, sassy, and filled with heart warming (and often hilarious) anecdotes. Sherri was brimming with vitality, and I will sorely miss her. R.I.P. Sherri Gibson.

There are storytellers and then there are storytellers.
And Rasputin was definitely the latter.
10 years ago, he sent me an email after reading one of my stories and encouraged me to enter his contest:
I was wary of writing such long stories at the time - 6,000 words?? Surely you jest!
But I did it! and he held this nervous black case's hand all the way.
He taught me how to edit; how to throw away what wasn't important and to create tales that were impactful and to the point.
His blog entries (and stories) were a pleasure to read, and receiving funny emails and photographs from him were a highlight each time I logged on.
It's sad to know that his long wait for a liver transplant never came to fruition, and one can only hope he is now keeping God and his Angels in stitches up there now.

Carl Setters Obituary
I didn't have the honor of being able to meet Carl Setters A.K.A. Kings because he passed on only a few months before I joined WdC. But it give me great joy to know that he is in heave singing praises to God with a glorious choir of angels. I loved being about to read through his portfolio because even thought I wasn't blessed to be directly acquainted with him, who he was shines brightly through his writings. He was a man who loved family, experienced suffering and loss, but had a love for God that was strong. Since it is almost Christmas, I decided to browse through his Christmas poetry and found this simple poem about why we celebrate Christmas.
This piece paints a beautiful picture of not only the birth of Jesus Christ but also the reason for his birth. In just a few simple lines, Carl was able to explain the simple truth of who Jesus Christ is. Beautiful.
Though I didn't get to meet Carl personally, I can tell by his writings that he will be missed. But we are all blessed that he was able to leave behind these beautiful pieces for us to continue to enjoy long after he walked through the pearly gates of Glory to spend eternity without pain, no more loss, and who knows, maybe he is sitting with Kind David writing poetry for God?
Rest In Peace, Carl. I look forward to meeting you one day in Glory.

She was blessed with a spirit that could overcome anything life threw in her way and I am proud to have known her and have her influence my writing. I could never match her kindness and giving, but made me want to try, if at least to pay it forward...

The world has lost a very generous soul. Lynda was sweet and funny, but it was her generosity of spirit that stands out the most in the memories of those who knew her. She loved to surprise people with both real and virtual gifts, and was often an anonymous benefactor behind the scenes. She didn't want gratitude, she just wanted to make people smile and lift their spirits. She was never the most tech-savvy person, but she always took the time to comment and respond, to say a few kind words or do whatever she could to make someone smile. She didn't like to complain, and often laughed off her own worries as trivial. She spent weeks in hospital, logging into Writing.com from her hospital bed, before letting anyone know that she was having any health issues at all. This was typical of her - she didn't want to spoil people's moods or inspire any negative emotions, she would rather make people smile. I know that while we can't help but shed a tear and grieve her passing, she'll be clucking her tongue at us and urging us to smile, to live, and to do good in the world. She will be sorely missed, and the Writing.com community has lost a true angel.

But, I also know you wouldn't want the things you gave and did to be so prevalent now that you are at peace in the Lord's home. Jennifer Nicole Walker Obituary (click on link beneath "Current Obituaries")
I met Jen~ in Noticing Newbies forum where I welcomed her back to the community after she said that she has been a member of WdC many years ago. We became friends after I've read one of her poems and sent her dark poetry merit badge for it. She was very excited because she wrote about her health issues  . Third day I made a note in my notebook about new found friend and asked my fans to welcome her. "Note: Check out my new friend [Link To User jen2] . ..." I think that's when Jen met amyjo-Keeping it real and fun! and they became 'partners in crime' how she used to say.
It's so sad to know that she won't be around anymore, I was expecting to see her turning yellow this year because she was valuable and supportive member of this community  . She wrote about her dad in my campfire " Invalid Item" and talked to me when I told her to not feel pressure by the campfire system and that she just needs to write when she feels like remembering her dad . It'll be heartwrecking to skip her turn within campfire from now on. I couldn't believe when I saw Whata SpoonStealer  's username carry her name yesterday, I went to check her portfolio to see what's going on but couldn't find anything until I didn't see Patrece ~ 's post in public newsfeed .
I have never felt this way about anyone who left us here like I feel about her now. I'm in complete shock and I cry since yesterday. She will be missed a lot  .

I first came across Jen when welcoming her as a newbie. She told me she had been a member many years ago and was pleased to return to the fold. I am not the most active of members but Jen was one of the few I got to know briefly on this site. A genuinely warm and lovely person who always had a virtual smile and was so happy within the WDC community, as was clear from her newsfeed posts. I didn't know she was ill and am truely shocked at her passing. It is clear from the many comments and newsfeed posts that she was highly thought of and had many friends here. Thoughts of course go out to her fiance and children. RIP Jen2

I just found out that you've left us to be in a better place. It breaks my heart that you had to leave us, but I want you to know how much your friendship meant to me on here. I remember when you first joined WdC, and I knew you had talent. You were an amazing person in this realm, as I'm sure you are in that one, and you'll be missed here. But please know that we'll all be together one day, sharing our stories with each other and continuing to laugh and sing!

Cheri was pretty active during her four years on WDC, having created an assortment of stories and poems, and over 800 reviews! It's been a few days now, since our dear friend and Novel Workshop compatriot left us for a far better place.
Stefan was one of the warmest, most encouraging writers I've met on this site. His ever present smile could be felt in every post, every email, every note; anyone who ever communicated with him will testify to this.
When he joined the Novel Workshop several years ago, the light he brought with him was palpable.
I dare state, it's a little dimmer in there - and all over WDC - these days, at least for me. (I know this would make him unhappy, so I'll think and encourage happy thoughts until his light rekindles through our collective memory and our smiles along with it. Pinky swear.)
And though it's still raw and the tears flow freely at the thought of him or the sight of his name or photograph, I can't help but ponder how lovely are the blessings of his written words, so very personal and universal at the same time. We've been privy to a side of the man others may never know. This is ours. He gave it to us. And we can always find him there, anytime we want, and without anyone's permission.
I believe heaven's a little brighter for his presence. His faith was great. He shared it willingly, but never force-fed it. I know he cuddles today in the arms of his beloved Lord.

Stefan became a preferred author earlier this year (February 2018), so it was understandably difficult on all his friends to have to mourn his passing after having just celebrated his promotion. Though Stefan has been on WDC for only (a little less than) two years, he made many friends who will miss his conversation and lively family stories.

Countrymom was in the Womens Army Core, and a proud Veteran who did television interviews with other Veterans in the Veterans History Project. She wanted to be remembered for her poetry. She co-authored two poetry books with me and authored 3 others alone. She will be missed dearly.

Ann was outrageous and proud and determined and hilarious and generous and eccentric. She could be oh so trying, but I miss her long snail mail letters and her fierce defence of those she loved. Ann, you are missed. I've missed you since you got Alzheimer's and couldn't be here anymore, couldn't write to me anymore, but now? Now I'm a little bit heartbroken.

Mona, dear Mona,
It all still seems surreal; like watching fading grain-stained images on a screen as the memories come flooding back. Your presence, your energy, your spirit was felt from the moment you leapt into my life as a Writing.com member. You never hesitated to encourage my writings or my activities; always cheering me on and participating in whatever little way you could. You have claimed the crown twice in a magical place you were so happy to be a part of - Wonderland - with an enthusiasm that transported me (and your many readers) into your fantastic and brilliant imagination. Methinks Mr. Carroll would be so proud of your efforts.
However, it seems almost trivial to narrow what you were just based on your written works, for you were so much more than that, Mona.
You never let on that you were going through so much. You kept up the 'smile' in this little corner of your home on the internet; making sure Writing.com blossomed under your kindness and contagious positivity. Hearing the news, weeks ago, left me shocked at just how much inner strength you've displayed through it all. You truly were an inspiration, and I am forever grateful that you still took the time to write one last email; assuring me that you were indeed now at peace and ready to go to a better and much happier place.
Oh, how I envy the angels who now get to experience what we were lucky to have while you were on earth.
Rest in peace, my dearest friend, and thank you...for everything.
