You've been transported to Europe, ca 1000 AD. Can you survive, or better yet, thrive?

I saw this idea on a different website and thought I'd ask others to participate.

What would you do if you found yourself transported to 1000 AD Europe? Take your pick of countries if you feel you have a language advantage, keeping in mind that languages are almost unrecognizable from today to 1000 years ago. You can't carry anything modern with you, just what's in your head. You can't prepare.

Can you survive? What will you do? Can you even thrive after the initial landing?
