I've never heard of specific horror music, but why couldn't you use a theme from a horror movie, or perhaps a play (such as Phantom of the Opera)? Obviously your readers aren't "hearing" the music, but depending on your intended audience, there are many recognizable themes out there which may work for your purposes. Good luck!
