Thank you for your advice Mamu it's really much appreciated and I might try that with him. See if it helps.

On another note I was over at my friend's place last night and he has two dogs too. There is a six year old jack russle crossed with a maltease he's a big sook, and a 6 month old Border Collie crossed with german shepard. They are both male. The jack russle loves attention and when the border collie comes near will tend to bark then snap at it each and every time. I thought that older dogs got along ok with younger dogs? I mean my 6 year old rottweiler gets along great with my 6 month old duchound. I suppose it could be just a personality clash but my duchound is very playful too and my rottweiler only ever barks and snaps if she is sleeping which isn't really all that often..otherwise she loves playing with him. Well I just thought I'd tell you guys about it as it says you love dogs. And I found the different reactions interesting.
