How many things do you work on at a time?

Ok so my next question is how many different things do you work on at a time?

I'm asking because I have my manuscript that I've been working on for the better part of a year, a new story that is still in the idea/planning stage and then a short story I want to work on more. I wonder if I'm trying to do too much at once.
