A sanctuary for weary writers, inky wretches, and aspiring professional novelists. |
RE: self-doubt- You're in some excellent company, Witchicus. If you Google "writers and self-doubt, or writers with self-doubt, or most any combination containing "writing/writers/authors" and "self-doubt" you'll see link after link of blogs, articles, and books on the subject. Take solace in the fact that some few million authors have faced the same problem and managed to overcome it. The problem thaT you described (losing sense of direction) is VERY common, especially when you're writing by stream of consciousness, rather than following an outline. There's a lot of freedom in writing on the fly, but many times, when you find yourself hitting deadends, designing a simple outline can help. Playing the "what if" game, or introducing a new characters works for others. . For more "stuff," visit: http://LiamJackson.com "Have you ever been caught hiding bodies in your closet? No?
