Hmm... Some answers:

No we haven't announced the change anywhere.

The "My Gift Points" mouse over it new as is the "My Blog" quick entry mouse over, if you have a My Blog setup.

And yes, I very recently updated the navigation menus to determine browser height and adjust to it. *Smile*

Clicking the navigation titles, like "My Places" or "By Genre" will lock the navigation menu open until you click something or open another navigation menu.
