I completely forgot to come back here and answer this after I read it - oops
Northern Georgia, and North Western Georgia, are beautiful first of all. It's a heavily forested area that sits at the foothills that run through Tennessee. It's a lot of pine trees, but also a wide assortment of other trees (no palm trees though). As far as critters are concerned - possums, mesquitoes, lightening bugs (I saw a bunch of those there and I've never seen them like that anywhere else). It's older housing - trailer parks and such. It's not heavily populated, most of the people live in Atlanta and Savana instead.
Hmm...now that I think about it, there's a lot to say. I lived there for a year and my sweetie was there even longer, so feel free to ask any specific questions, and I promise to answer sooner next time
