I think you could use the name if you think it is really relevant for your story. Nothing wrong with it, specially if you don't think it's going to be a classic anyway. The thing is, I think almost everyone that has written a classic doesn't write it knowing it's going to be a classic. Granted it only happens to a few, but still, it could end up being around more than that.

Mostly though, I would ask yourself which one you think will come across better to the reader, the description or the name. Even though Hot Topic is a well known store, what if you have readers that don't know about it? Or what if they already have a preconceived notion about the store (for whatever reason) and that opinion gets in the way with the story? Granted it could also help, but that's just where my thoughts went.
